The St.Kitts-Nevis Dr. Timothy Harris led Team UNITY government have announced plans to turn up the heat on criminals. According to Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris in his monthly press conference an official request has been made to the FBI for assistance in the crime fighting activities in the Federation .

The Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Dr Harris told the media at the monthly conference “We have approached the government of the USA and we have solicited their support in bringing FBI into St. Kitts and Nevis to compliment the activities that are taking place,”
Since 2014 56 murders have been recorded in the federation . When the new Team UNITY Government took office in February 2015 the federation had already recorded 7 murders for the year.
PM Harris indicated that he followed an earlier plea for assistance to US government representatives while at a FACTA gathering in Barbados recently.

Freedom Fm Newsdesk spoke to the Deputy Commisioner with responsibility for crime Ian Queeley on Tuesday and enquired if the matter with contacting the FBI had been concretized. Freedom also asked the commissioner if the armed robbery of 50 medical students had made the FBI coming to St. Kitts-Nevis a top priority.
