Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 16, 2015 (SKNIS): The Government’s financial support of the remodelling of the Ocean Terrace Inn (OTI) is set to add another dynamic dimension to the country’s tourism product.

Minister of Tourism the Hon. Lindsay Grant has stated that it has been “a fantastic renovation process.” The Minister explained that upon touring the facility “OTI is very well poised for the new developments [in tourism] that are to come.”

The Tourism Minister added that the Government is willing, able and ready to support ventures such as these, as “they auger well with the future of tourism and national development.”

All work done on site was undertaken by locals. Some furniture in the rooms was also made by persons in Nevis.

Minister Grant stated that this was a great opportunity for locals to gain life-long skills and expand their business opportunities.

Over 30 individuals are currently employed at OTI and others in the future will be able to obtain long term employment.

The hotel had a soft opening of 34 rooms on April 1 and according to Manager of OTI Robert Williams the hotel will be opened and fully operational in the upcoming weeks.
