Former SKN Ambassador to the USA and the OAS, Her Excellency Jacinth Henry Martin is responding to an article of April 30, 2015 posted on MiyVue, ‘Government resolves hindrances posed by diplomats’. In which unfounded claims were made in respect of my response to callas by newly elected Federal government for the resignation of its overseas based ambassadors.

Ms. Henry-Martin said the article in question was untruthful and unfair in its portrayal of my interaction with the government, clearly the end result of journalistic ineptitude.

Ambassador Henry-Martin states that she has served honorably and with distinction as my country’s Ambassador to the USA and the OAS, and has had no issue with any current or former elected Federal government. To infer otherwise, in my opinion, is a deliberate attempt to smear my name and to create some measure of confusion specifically about my actions and intentions on the assumption of the new government’s mandate.

Henry-Martin indicated that she was among the first to submit her resignation to the Unity government before February 25, 2015 and that a copy have been sent to the federal government. She said there was never an issue of refusal, hindrance or impose on her part and that the claims in the MiyVue article are utterly baseless.

She said the article was poorly written and disregards the truth; is an un researched package of rot and that the writer did not have the decency to familiarize himself/herself with the facts.

Ms. Henry-Martin, the new Chief of Staff to the OAS said it was her intention to take legal actions against MiyVue if a full retraction and apology is not posted on the site in 24 hours.
