Former Health Minister in the Denzil Douglas administration says the Health Ministry is in crisis with the sudden departure of CMO Dr. Patrick Martin on Friday and hours later the permanent Secretary Andrew Skeritt sent on vacation leave.
Liburd told Freedom Fm Newsdesk that the Ministry of Health was” in a mess”. She said there were obvious shenanigans going on in that Ministry, which was typical of what was going on in the government itself.
Minister of Health Eugene Hamilton declined on Saturday to comment on reports that Skeritt had been transferred. Hamilton said the health ministry was being reformed.
CMO Dr Martin told Freedom fm on Friday that he had been sent home with immediate effect and that he had seen the writing on the wall.
