Deputy PM Addresses Nation: BHS Shift System Ends. Brand New High School to be Constructed

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Honourable Shawn Richards has outlined the way forward re the Basseterre High School during a national address on Wednesday (August 19).

“We will build a new school. It is not the intention of this government to continue to put the health of these citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis at risk,”
This part of the statement was the most resounding and resonating . A brand new High School for the Children and the People of St.Kitts-Nevis.

Deputy PM Richards announced that the shift system with students of the Washington Archibald High School and Basseterre High School has been brought to an end. The students of the BHS will be housed in various facilities, each within close proximity to the other, as preparations are made for alternative structures to be constructed.

The statement by the Minister of Education also indicated that a new High School will be constructed.
