Deputy Premier and Minister of Health in the Nevis Island Administration the Honorable Mark Brantley says the health sector in Nevis, in particular the Alexandra Hospital will see significant investment to the tune of $20 million in 2017.

Brantley told Freedom Fm Newsdesk on Wednesday that a brand new wing to the Alexandra Hospital will focus on “a new operation theatre, new rooms, provisions for dialysis, labs, diagnostic centre. We expect that with the additions and investment in terms of equipment and the hard infrastructure it will be the most significant single investment in healthcare on Nevis in the past several decades”.

Brantley indicated that the first phase of this development will begin in early January and will be fenced by the Nevis Island Administration and the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation.

He further indicated that contracts had already been awarded for the roll out of the project. The Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs then wished all nationals a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2017.
