A New Day in St Kitts Cruise Tourism

February 14, 2017 in National

The St Kitts Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with taxi and tour operators will be implementing a new dispatching system to improve the guest experience and the operations of taxi and tour operations at Port Zante.

The new Kiosk Distributing System moves the dispatching of cruise ship passengers to the eastern corridor of Port Zante, where various types of tours have been placed in kiosks.

This will allow visitors to easily indentify and select from the offered excursions in the kiosks.

Minister of Tourism the Honorable Lindsay FP Grant said that St Kitts has become a premier cruise ship destination, however it is still imperative that we keep working hard to deliver a world-class experience to our visitors.

Speaking on Freedom Fm’s Issues on Monday, the Sty Kitts Tourism Project Development Manager Melnesia Marshall said the new system would be implemented on Tuesday and indicated that this system is intended to streamline the dispatching of visitors to taxi and tour operators and improve the experience of our guests on Port Zante, ensuring that all of taxi and tour operators have an equal opportunity to do business.

Marshall added that the new system resulted from several consultations with taxi and tour operators.

Also, a special Transportation Committee representing the entire gamut of taxi and tour operators on Port Zante, assisted in creating the new Kiosk Distributing System.
