Terrence Drew+Marcella Liburd-1St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Chairperson the Honorable Marcella Liburd is taking the Team Unity Government to task for the continued discrimination and victimization towards women because of political affiliation to the Labour Party.

Liburd told a captive Issues audience on Freedom Fm on Wednesday, that some women while being disrespected are afraid and intimidated.

She said they put up with it just to continue to feed and support their families.

Liburd said that things are so slow in St. Kitts-Nevis that small businesses are complaining about the lack of opportunities.

She further stated that with the trend towards unemployment the Minister of Labor, the Honorable Vance Amory is missing in action.

Meanwhile Dr Terrence Drew calls for Team Unity to put in place a Freedom of Information Act saying During the election campaign, the Team Unity promised freedom of information and fair share for all on Wednesday’s edition of Issues.

Drew said the reality is that such promises have not materialized as the government led by Dr Timothy Harris, has continued to suppress information vital to the smooth operation of any government.

Drew indicated the failure to operationalize the Public Accounts Committee and referenced the travails of Former Press Secretary Clecton Phillip, that the Unity Government is not serious in getting the information out.
