Water in Nevis at crisis point says Parry because of CCM mismanagement

Leader of the Nevis Reformation Party says the water situation in Nevis is bad and has reached a crisis point.

Speaking on Freedom Fm’s popular talk show Issues on Tuesday said back in 2006 when the NRP got into power there was a problem with water which was being diverted to the Four Seasons Hotel and that hundreds of persons had to do without the precious resource for a period of time.

Parry said negotiations and implementation of a plan with BEAD resolved the issue. Parry said by 2009 Nevis was the only island in the Eastern Caribbean that did not have a problem with water.

Parry said under the NRP’s stewardship water was commissioned and utilized from several other resource areas of Nevis from Hamiltons Gingerland and St Johns areas, but that the CCM Government when it came to power ignored these developments and refused to pay BEAD resulting in the water program falling apart because of mismanagement and incompetence under the CCM.
