The Violent Crime Unit (VCU) on Nevis is investigating a fatal shooting incident which occurred at Hamilton Estate about 9:50 PM on Friday 17 April 2015, This resulted in one person fatally wounded.

Initial investigation revealed that 57 year old Everette Llewellyn Hanley of Hamilton Estate, a senior employee of the Bank of Nevis was attacked by unknown armed an assailant or assailants in front his residence.

It has been reported that the motive might have been robbery as his death came a few hours after at least two other robberies in the same area.

Friday afternoon, a man was robbed while on the construction site of a home he is building not far from where Mr. Hanley lived. The man is said to have had his chain, wedding band and money taken from him at gunpoint.

Also on Friday afternoon, employees of the Cable stationed at a small office near its antennae site in the area, were robbed at gunpoint of personal effects.
Saturday morning, Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David confirming the killing, urged Nevisians to be on their guard and on the lookout for unusual activity and report it.

Meanwhile, the Violent Crime Unit (VCU) on St. Kitts is investigating a fatal shooting incident which occurred at Water Works, Cayon about 1:00 AM on this morning (Sunday 19 April 2015), which resulted in one (1) person fatally wounded.

Initial investigation revealed that 42 year old Jeffrey Daniel of Water Works, Cayon was attacked by two (2) unknown armed an assailants at his residence, and he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

police urge Anyone who has information pertaining to this incident is ask to call the VCU at 467-1887, 467-1886,the nearest police, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS). Remember, you do not have to provide your personal information and you maybe eligible to receive a reward.
