NigelCarty-1SKNLP Senator Nigel Carty speaking on Freedom Fm Issues on Wednesday is blaming the Team Unity government for failure to act decisively on the current crime wave.

Carty revealed that January was a record month for murders and shootings in St. Kitts-Nevis yet there is no outrage by the government and civil society.

Carty revealed that following on the heels of 34 murders in 2015, and the record breaking killing spree in January, the Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr Timothy Harris, along with the Team Unity government, had all but disappeared and had not been productive in fighting in particular gun related crimes.

Meanwhile a caller on Freedom Fm’s popular issues program on Wednesday said that gun men were seen brandishing their weapons on the compound of the JNF Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. The caller said people were scared for their lives.
