HonTimothyHarrisPrime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr Timothy Harris is asking the citizens of St.Kitts- Nevis to cooperate with the police in security matters to make St. Kitts Nevis the safest destination in the Caribbean. While speaking in parliament at Tuesday’s sitting, Prime Minister Harris said families should be more responsible and responsive in situations where family members are known to the breaking of the law. Harris said in times like these we need to be our brother’s keepers.

“ I make the appeal to all of us to do what we can starting in our homes. We see our brother with too much gold and silver and too many of a lot of things and you know that brother doesn’t have anything, not even on PEP putting in an hour. You have a sister not working, she going to every show, she in every fashion, you have to ask a question out of concern, who looking after you so nice and when you get a name you have to check it out because innocent people are being haul into a life of criminality. We have to be our brother’s and sister’s keeper in this time.

He said rentals were being used to commit crimes and he would ask the Attorney General to look at that matter. “We have to be careful when we see them in rentals, and I have asked the Attorney General to look at that matter to see what disclosure we would impose upon rental owners… to ensure that the criminals who want to use rentals and other vehicles in their criminal enterprise that information and intelligence is passed to the police,” said the National Security Minister.

On the matter of bad cops in the force, Prime Minister Harris said these corrupt cops must be weeded out. “Some of them are vulnerable, if you have information on any of them, because if there are bad cops in the force, the police and defense, if they are bad agents they are contributing, none is above the law,” said Prime Minister Harris.
