West Indies Twenty20 batting star Rovman Powell struck his third half-century in four innings as Jamaica Tallawahs wrapped up their preliminary round campaign in the Caribbean Premier League with a dominant, eight-wicket victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors here Saturday night.

The visitors made light work of a target of 174, romping over the line with 11 balls to spare in the contest at Guyana National Stadium, to notch their sixth win and move into second spot on 12 points in the standings.

New Zealander Ross Taylor top-scored with an unbeaten 60 off 41 deliveries, while Man of the Match Powell blasted 55 not out from 34 balls, to cap off a clinical run chase in an unbroken, 114-run, third-wicket stand.

Jason Mohammed’s 54 off 33 balls had earlier helped to propel Amazon Warriors up to 173 for six off their 20 overs, after being sent in.

Exciting left-hander Shimron Hetmyer chipped in with 48, opener Cameron Delport got 34 while Chadwick Walton, batting in the middle, scored 25.
