One in Custody for Early Morning Robbery at Ferry Terminal, Police Search for Other Suspect Continues

One person is custody and one is being sought in relation to a robbery at that occurred at the Basseterre Ferry terminal early Saturday. Initial investigations reveal that the complainant was at the ferry terminal awaiting departure to St. Maarten when he was approached by two individual who robbed him of a sum of money.

A bystander in the area seeing what was occurring intervened and the assailants made an escape. After being informed of the incident, and being told a bystander assisted, Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley said, “I want to commend the individual who came to the assistance of the gentleman being robbed. Your actions clearly demonstrated the spirit of community… people looking out and taking care of each other. I commend you.”

Investigations are continuing.

In other news Police are confirming that the owner of the popular Boosies on the Frigate Bay Strip was robbed and beaten at his home and an undisclosed sum of money taken from him.

Meanhwile Clynton Rohan Matthew, also known as “Sauce or Rebel” a National of St. Kitts and Nevis is wanted by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the offence of Robbery.

The incident occurred on Saturday December 17, 2016. Any person knowing the whereabouts of Clynton Rohan Matthew, also known as “Sauce or Rebel “is asked to call the Basseterre Police Station Criminal Investigations Department at telephone number 465-2241 ext (4220 or 4236) or the nearest Police Station, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS).
