The Hon Marcella Liburd, SKNLP Chairperson has expressed concern about a serious water shortage in St Kitts. Speaking on Freedom Fm’s “Issues” on Wednesday Liburd explained that there are areas in St Kitts that have been without water for weeks.

Speaking to WINN FM recently, Senior Met Officer Elmo Burke explained that the island is seeing a deficit in rainfall.

The SKNLP Chair disclosed that while in office the SKNLP had expected the drought conditions and its impact on the availability of water. She said that the Former Government had contracted a company to provide water to help the situation.

She further explained that the new Team Unity Government had brought the contract to a halt.
