SKNLP Member of Parliament for Constituency #2 Marcella Liburd told a Freedom Fm Issues Audience on Wednesday, that in spite of declarations of good governance and transparency mooted by the TUG, the government in fact is rife with conflict of interest practices.

Liburd said contracts are awarded on the basis of support and loyalty to Pm Harris and his government.

“So the Chairman of PLP who is also chair of the Development Bank, he has a company and his company has been awarded all sort of contracts… even to do with projects that the Development Bank funds”, declared Liburd. Liburd further claimed that there is no bidding or tendering for contracts.

Liburd said this was to facilitate PLP/PAM Supporters who would get these contracts which is the order of the day.

The MP said the Barbados Company Innotech was awarded the contract to build the BHS, that Innotech manager, a Mr DaSilva was also put on a Committee to advise the TUG on building on the Basseterre Aquifer.
