Parliamentary representative for constituency #3 Honorable Konris Maynard is asking why on earth are government officials visiting private homeowners in constituency #3 to find out if they are renting apartments, in an attempt to get them to register as a business paying a $500 business license and VAT.
Maynard advised nationals that they are not required by law to register apartments rented by private homeowners with the Inland Revenue Department.
He said this attempt was to fulfill a promise made by Dr Timothy Harris at the 2015-2016 budget debate, where the Prime Minister promised to increase tax revenues by 40%.
Maynard said this is because the Team Unity Government has virtually killed all other revenue sources such as the Citizenship by Investment Program.
