Former PLP Chairman Douglas Wattley told an Issues audience on Freedom Fm on Thursday that the incumbent Team Unity Government has no appetite to bring about changes in government that would facilitate a good governance and transparency agenda.

During the interview, Wattley was asked about the much needed Freedom of Information, Integrity in Public Life and Public Accounts Committee Legislation, which the PLP & TU promised to enact once elected to office.

“There is no appetite for that… it takes a real man and woman to keep their word. These things are going to be timed in such of a way that we will get a first reading in the House but they will never be operationalized and you know that for an act to be valid, quite frankly it has to be operationalized… there has to be statutory rules and regulations to make it operational… they will never do that, and if they do they must find a way to exempt themselves from scrutiny” declared Wattley.
