Ernest Grey Patch Hendricks dies: Shooting Spree Continues

The Trinity/Boyd’s/West Farm communities are this Tuesday mourning the loss of Ernest “Grey Patch” Hendricks who succumbed to his injuries resulting from a vicious shooting attack at his bakery on Wednesday 24th June2015.

The popular baker entrepreneur of many years was in his bakery early that morning when an unknown assailant entered and shot him in the stomach during a botched robbery attempt. Hendricks’ murder becomes the 18th homicide in St. Kitts – Nevis for 2015: 13 in St. Kitts and 5 in Nevis.

Meanwhile the shooting spree continued on the Western end of Liverpool Row on Monday afternoon when a dreadlocked man was chased and shot at by unknown gunman/gunmen just after 2pm. According to eyewitness accounts the man sought refuge in a clothing store but was chased out of the store and up Market Street, with shots fired by the chaser as he ran away.

It is understood that he was not injured. Police arrived on the crime scene minutes later and conducted a search in the area. This latest shooting comes down after a young man was shot and injured near the Circus on Friday evening (July 3rd). He was reportedly shot in the back and remains warded at the JNF Hospital.
