Defense Lawyer Charged with Gun Offense, Assault

Defense lawyer and former Attorney General of St. Kitts and Nevis Jason Hamilton was arrested on Thursday and hit with two criminal charges.

Freedom Fm understands that Hamilton was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and aggravated assault against a female in connection to a recent incident where he allegedly brandished his licensed firearm at a former female tenant and threatened her life.

Hamilton, who has become one of the leading criminal attorneys in the federation, before the magistrate court Thursday afternoon and was granted bail in the amount of $100,000 with two sureties. As part of his bail conditions the attorney ordered not to have any contact with the complainant either personally or through agents.
