UWI-1Dr. Janice Joseph, a native of St. Kitts, professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Stockton University, U.S.A. is offering a scholarship of one thousand five hundred dollars United States Currency ($1,500 US) to a student:

• Who is a national of St. Kitts and Nevis
• Who is or will be studying at any Campus of the University of the West Indies during the academic year 2015-2016.
Students interested in this award must apply by letter outlining:
• their course of study,
• their financial standing and support
• statement why they should be awarded the Scholarship.
• two letters of recommendations (no relatives)
• current high school/university transcript

Dr. Janice Joseph, a native of St. Kitts, completed her B.A. at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and her M.A. and Ph.D. at York University, Toronto, Canada. She is a Distinguished Professor of Criminal Justice in New Jersey and Past President of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS), a national organization in the United States. She is the first person of African ancestry to be elected to this position in ACJS forty-six year history. She is also an international scholar with several publications, Editor of the Journal of Ethnicity in Criminal Justice, and has taught in several foreign countries.
