Akiesha Fergus-1Miss Nevis Akiesha Fergus won three of the six-judged segments of the Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant on Monday to take the crown, title, cash prize and other gifts.
Fergus won the one piece swimwear, two piece swimwear and question and answer categories in the 10th anniversary staging of the region’s most distinguished and high-status Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant.

Montserratian delegate Sharrisa Ryan conferred the First runner-up position winning the Talent and Evening gown segments. In the non-judged categories, Ryan received awards for topping the list for her promotional video and Miss Photogenic. She also received other gift packages.

Second runner-up was bestowed to Miss Dominica Odessa Elie who won the interview segment. Elie also received prizes and gifts.

Miss Guyana Faydeha King was Miss Amity, an award that is judged by her fellow delegates and does not contribute any winning points.

The other delegates were Miss Antigua & Barbuda Netisha Ali, Miss St. Lucia Tara Edwards, Miss St. Kitts Jakiema Flemming, Miss Trinidad & Tobago Afeya Jeffrey, Miss BVI Tecora Morgan, Miss Anguilla Melisha Webster, and Miss St. Maarten Phausha Winklaar.

2015 marks the second time that Nevis has won the prestigious title and crown since the inception of the Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant’s ten-year history. Jamilla Parris won in 2006 for Nevis followed by Dominica’s Leandra Lander in 2007 and Dominica also again in 2008. Anguilla’s Sangrena Harris in 2009. Mauriece Roberts won for St. Kitts in 2010 and Oneka McKoy won in 2011 for St. Lucia. Trevicia Adams of St. Kitts in 2012, Leslassa Amour-Shillingford of Dominica in 2013 and Yarani Morton of St. Kitts in 2014.
