Basseterre, St. Kitts Police have launched an investigation into the shooting death of 18-year-old Sean John, a student at Washington Archibald High School and resident of College Housing, St. Kitts.
According to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), the incident was reported between 10:30 PM and 11 PM on Saturday, September 13. Officers responding to the call discovered that Mr. John had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
In an update issued Monday, the RSCNPF revealed that Sean John was found in his bedroom by his mother.
The news of the teen’s death has been met with widespread shock and grief throughout the community, particularly at Washington Archibald High School, where classmates and teachers have expressed sorrow over the tragic loss. Social media has since been filled with emotional tributes and calls for justice.
While investigators are actively pursuing leads, no suspects have been publicly identified. Police say they will continue to provide updates as the case develops.
