“The young people in Nevis are very dear to my heart” says the NRP’s Youth Candidate for the Gingerland/St George area, in constituency #3 Cory Tyson speaking on a recent edition of Issues on Freedom Fm.
Tyson who says he can win the Gingerland seat for the NRP in upcoming local elections, was responding to a question about the future for young people in Nevis given the recent surge of gun and gang related violence and unemployment among the Federation’s youth. Tyson said an overhaul of the education system was fundamental to changing the underlying system.
The entertainer/politician addressed the crime factor saying tough choices would have to be made, if tourism is to be sustainable.
Tyson also called for economic transformation and diversification to realize Nevis’ full potential.
