Vacancy for Crown Counsel and Senior Crown Counsel

The Human Resource Management Department invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the posts of Crown Counsel and Senior Crown Counsel in the Ministry of Justice, Legal Affairs and Communications.

The duties and responsibilities of the Crown Counsel include providing legal advice to government entities, representing the Attorney General’s Chambers at meetings, and assisting in the preparation and conduct of presentations and seminars to educate government entities.

The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Crown Counsel include representing the government in all civil matters in court, appearing in appeals in disciplinary matters before the Public Service Commission, vetting loan agreements with foreign government and agencies, and processing mutual legal assistance requests and letters rogatory while providing advice on treaty and international obligations.

Applicants for the Crown Counsel post must possess a Bachelor of Law degree and the Legal Education Certificate from a law school within the Caribbean region. Applicants for the Senior Crown Counsel post must possess a Bachelor of Law degree and the Legal Education Certificate from a law school within the Commonwealth.
