T&T beat Leeward Islands

ProfessionalCricketLeague-4DayLeeward Islands went under by six wickets to Trinidad & Tobago Red Force on the final day of their WICB Professional Cricket League four-day match at Warner Park in St Kitts yesterday.

Chasing 203 for victory, T&T Red Force were inspired by Yannick Ottley’s 76 not out and Nicholas Pooran’s 23 to achieve their target for the loss of four wickets.

Leeward Islands were dismissed for 202 in their first innings after winning the toss elected to bat. Jeremiah Louis (34 not out), Austin Richards (34), Akeem Saunders (34), Devon Thomas (24), Yannick Leonard (21) were the leading scorers for the Leewards.

Imran Khan bagged four for 83, Rayad Emrit picked-up two for 15 and Marlon Richards had two for 36 bowling for Red Force.

Khan then grabbed six for 13 as the Leewards crashed to 130 all out in their second innings. Austin Richards topped scored with 42 while Jahmar Hamilton contributed 30.

Red Force made 130 all out in their first innings with Yannick Cariah scoring an unbeaten 43 and Emrit getting 33.

Anthony Martin and Orlando Peters both bagged two wickets for 17 runs with Gavin Tonge taking two for 24 and Jeremiah Louis claiming two for 30.
