Brantley and Jeffers Likely to Lead Nevis’ Concerned Citizens Movement

Freedom Fm has learnt that the executive of Nevis’ governing Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) met on Sunday to nominate candidates to replace the party’s current executive.

The Hon. Mark Brantley was nominated, by Hon. Alexis Jeffers, to serve as Party Leader while The Hon. Alexis Jeffers was nominated, by Hon. Mark Brantley, to serve as Deputy Leader The Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams was nominated as Party Chairperson With Calypsonian Keith ‘Dis and Dat’ Scarborough was nominated as Deputy Chairperson.

Other functionaries include Lorna Hunkins nominated as Secretary, Oscar Walters nominated as Treasurer and Timothy Caines nominated as Public Relations Officer.

The proposed candidates for the executive will be ratified at a caucus to be held this weekend.

In recent months, there had been talks of changes to the party’s leadership as rumours continue to spread that the island’s Premier and CCM’s Leader, Hon. Vance Amory, will not be contesting the next Nevis Island Assembly elections.

It is not clear if the current CCM Leader and Premier of Nevis the Honorable Vance Amory attended the caucus of executive members.
