Diabetes-1The meeting of the St.Kitts Diabetes Association that was scheduled for Sunday 22nd May at 3 pm, has been postponed until Sunday 5th June 2016. The meeting will be held on this new date , at 3 pm at the Old Girls School on Victoria Road.

The Association regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and hopes to continue it’s mission, with regular meetings organized to continue the education of individuals living with Diabetes.

All members and prospective members as well as family members and caregivers of Diabetics, are invited to come and share in this very important meeting. At the same time, interested persons can sign up to become members of the ST.Kitts Diabetes Association.

The SDA is in the process of carrying out screening exercises for Diabetes in all of the High Schools in ST.kitts. They  visited  the Basseterre High School , on Friday 13th May starting at 9 am. Thursday 19th May at 9 am , the SDA will visit Saddlers High School to continue the screening exercises.

It is our hope that these exercises will lead to earlier detection of young people already having problems with Diabetes and as such, offer the appropriate advice on the way forward with the condition. We are pleased to collaborate with the St.Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society and the Ministry of Health in this important Venture.

We welcome any offers of assistance and advice from the General public, in particular, the Business community, as we carry on the fight to reduce the incidence of serious complications due to Diabetes.
