Shooting In Nevis: 1 Dead 1 Hospitalized

Freedom Fm is reliably informed of a shooting incident in the Cotton Ground area on Nevis early Monday morning that resulted in 2 women Morella Webbe and Sonia Jeffrey both of Cotton Ground being shot.

Reports are that both women were hospitalized but that one of the women, a young mother identified as Morella Webbe succumbed to her injuries and died.

It is further reported that both women had just returned from a 10 thousand dollar Bingo jackpot game and were sitting in a car when suddenly an unknown assailant(s) opened fire on them pumping some 30 bullets into the vehicle which was driven by Webbe.

A police release said that “officers from the Violent Crimes Unit are investigating a shooting incident on Nevis. Incident occurred around 3.45am on Monday April 17 in Cotton Ground. Two persons received gun shot injuries and are being treated at the Alexandra hospital.”
