Reports of turmoil in the National Housing Corporation

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 13, 2018 – Turmoil continued Tuesday in the National Housing Corporation (NHC) following a third emergency meeting of the NHC Board of Directors on Monday 12th November. Monday’s meeting is said to be the third in five days, according to a reliable source.

During the first emergency meeting on Thursday 8th November, the Board decided to send General Manager, Mrs. Elretha Simpson-Browne on a two-month vacation from Monday 12th November 2018.

On Friday 9th, Mrs. Simpson-Browne was ordered to hand over the office keys and office files. Immediately after the locks to the office was changed.

The NHC Board held a second emergency meeting on Sunday 11th November at the Solid Waste Management Office.

Following a third emergency Board meeting on Monday 12th November, the secretary to the manager and the manager’s deputy were both reportedly removed from their positions.

Efforts to confirm the removals and if they are temporary were unsuccessful.
