Gavel-1A 54-year old Sea View Farm man is staring down the barrel of life imprisonment after being convicted in the High Court for raping a child.

Fitzroy “Buck” Joseph was found guilty by a 12-member for holding down a 14-year-old girl, threatening her life and raping her in January 2013.

Reports are that the man is known as a family friend who frequented the residence. He cooked at the house where the girl lives with her siblings, mother and grandmother.

The virtual complainant told the court that she was accustomed to collect wood chipping from the back of the yard to make fire to smoke out mosquitoes and on the evening in question, she was at home with relatives and the convicted rapist.

The teenager, who broke down on at least two occasions during her testimony, told the court that Joseph accosted when she went to collect wood chippings. He pushed her forward and held both of her hands behind the back.
