Police-1Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 04, 2015 The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Special Victims Unit (the SVU) are investigating a building breaking and larceny on Walwyn St, in the Village area, that also resulted in sexual assault on one of the occupants.

According to the unit report, the incident occurred around 5.20am on Thursday (December 03). The occupants, two males and one female stated that they were awakened by the presence of three (3) males in their residence. The assailants took several items including 1 Samsung Note 2, a Samsung Note 3, one laptop charger, three watches, cellphones, ATM cards, one Mac Book and cash in the amount of EC500.00.

The assailants then sexually assaulted the female resident. The traumatized female resident has received medical treatment and other support.

The Forensic Services Unit processed the scene.

Assistant Commissioner of Police with Responsibility for Crime Ian Queeley in the press release says that the incident was troubling.

“This type of crime is of great concern. Our families must be able to go to bed at night knowing that they are safe in the comfort of their homes. Safe from intruders,” he said. The ACP appealed to the public to secure their homes properly before retiring.

Some two weeks ago residents in the Half moon bay area were subjected to similar armed home invasions.

Police are appealing to anyone with any information about the incident to call the nearest Police Station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
