Police Investigating New Year Shootings

Police-1Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 2, 2016, 2015 (RSCNPF): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is currently investigating a shooting incident in the Basseterre area. The incident occurred about 8.50pm on Friday (January 1).

Initial investigations have revealed, a 23 year old male was shot by an unknown assailant on West Independence Square Street in the vicinity of the Horsfords Furniture Showroom in Basseterre. The assailant fired a single gunshot at the victim who was transported to the J. N. France General Hospital by Police vehicle, and has been treated for his injuries.

The Forensics Unit has canvassed the scene for evidence.

POLICE INVESTIGATING CAYON SHOOTING

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 2, 2016 (RSCNPF): The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is currently investigating a shooting incident in the Cayon area. The incident occurred about 3.25am on Saturday (January 2).

Investigations have revealed, a 25 year old male who was a passenger in a vehicle with two other persons and was shot by an unknown assailant(s) in the vicinity of the SDA Church on the island’s main road in Cayon. The victim is currently being treated for his injuries.
