Eugene Hamilton-1Supporters of the Honorable Eugene Hamilton from Constituency#8 took to Facebook and other social media to express their dissatisfaction with the removal of Hamilton from the PAM Executive as Deputy Leader.

Known Unity Hamilton supporters such as Douglas Wattley and Lennox Liburd, have called the move to out Hamilton as ungrateful.

Wattley wrote that “Eugene won more convincingly than all of you.

Yet you unselect him as Deputy Leader and replace him with an individual who has virtually no chance of ever being elected to Parliament.

The logic eludes me on this one, “Wattley charged. Meanwhile the official results of the elections for the position of Deputy Leader of the PAM, has not been announced following a flawed balloting process, which saw Vernon Connor replacing Hamilton as Deputy Leader.

Deputy Prime Minister and Party Leader, Honorable Shawn K Richards speaking on local radio, stated that the status quo remained until the voting process could be sorted out, as it appeared there were irregularities, and the possibilities that persons may have voted for the same person twice.

Freedom Fm spoke to the Honorable Eugene Hamilton who declined to comment on the issue as it was still in the process of being resolved.

Hamilton said that he was proud of and would encourage the young people’s right to serve in any capacity in the PAM.

Meanwhile Chairperson of the SKNLP & the Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #2, the Hon Marcella Liburd told an Issues audience on Wednesday, that what we are witnessing today is the collapse of Team Unity, Liburd stated that the Team Unity had come together to get rid of former Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas and upon taking office, greed and deception had taken over.

Liburd said the Government’s claim to unifying the country was baseless given the levels of rampant victimization.

Liburd insisted the overall theme of the recent PAM 51st convention, was that PAM must get better and look out for their supporters.

Liburd maintained that the attempt to remove Deputy Leader Hamilton just did not make sense.
