The Member of Parliament for St Phillip South said he has no intention of reporting a second threat against his life to the police, because he lacks confidence in Police Commissioner Wendel Robinson.

Wilmoth Daniel, who also served as a minister in the former United Progressive Party (UPP) administration, said he received the first death threat earlier this year, but was made aware of the latest plot to kill him, by radio host Algernon “Serpent” Watts and Crusader Radio employee Zizzy, via an anonymous phone call from a female.

He said that last Thursday morning the woman informed him that she overheard a conversation that “hit men” were being brought in by political opponents to take the trio “out”.

The MP said he believed the woman’s account to be genuine because she sounded “very nervous”.

But Daniel, who will run against Prime Minister Gaston Browne in the St John’s City West Constituency in the next general elections said that, to date, he has not reported the matter to the police.
