Former Nevis Premier says the explosion of crime in the federation is a very serious thing.

Speaking at a townhall meeting aired live on Freedom Fm on Wednesday night, Parry referenced the recent gruesome murders of Leanna Napoleon and Darnell Govia and questioned whether such murderers were “fit to live”.

Parry then turned his attention to murders in his Nevis constituency saying as a result people cannot sleep at nights.

“We need to understand the scope of what crime is doing to our economy and country”, said the NRP leader.

Parry said the 8 point plan enunciated by the Deputy Premier Mark Brantley is mere talk and political rhetoric.

According to Parry, the police cannot do their work successfully as they are being controlled by the government and as a result they are underperforming.

The police force is being run like we are still in the 1920’s declared Parry.
