MP Liburd questions police and government actions on Ren Biao’s status

The issue of the status of Chinese fugitive Ren Biao was again brought to the fore by SKNLP’s representatives on Wednesday.

MP for Central Basseterre, the Honorable Marcella Liburd questioned why no official statement has been issued by the police or the TUG led by Dr Timothy Harris, on the status of the Chinese national Ren Biao who also has a SKN passport via the CBI program.

Liburd said Biao according to reports was detained at the Cotton Ground police station and was being transferred to the Basseterre Police Station.

Liburd said it appeared that PM Harris as Minister of National Security was dodging and hiding from this matter and was avoiding international and regional developmental forums on health and economic growth because he did not want regional journalists to question him on the Ren Biao affair.
