Members of the Medical Fraternity defer comments on CMO and Stem Cell Research Project at JNF

jnf-1The issues of the pre-retirement leave for the CMO Dr. Patrick Martin and the ongoing Cabinet approved Stem Cell research project at the JNF General Hospital where A medical doctor on the project was operating without license, were put to members of the Medical Fraternity by Freedom Fm’s Newdesk on Tuesday Morning.

The President of the St.Kittts – Nevis Medical Association Dr. Davine Wilkin deferred comments until the medical association had met to consider the matter. Chief of Staff at the JNF Dr. Cameron Wilkinson told Freedom Fm that the matter was being investigated by the Ministry of Health and had no further comment.

Member of the Medical Board, Dr. Bichara Sahely said he had no comment at this time. Last week the Ministry with responsibility for Personnel and Human Resources, had sent the CMO Dr. Martin on accumulated vacation leave and had transferred Permanent Secretary of Health, Andrew Skerrit, leaving the top 2 position in Health vacant.
