Liburd accuses Team Unity Government of reckless spending of public finances

Marcella Liburd-1Chairperson of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour party the Honorable Marcella Liburd appearing on the weekly sponsored Wednesday’s edition of Issue spoke of the government’s wanton spending of public funds and said the new Team Unity Government was fiscally imprudent with the public purse.

She said that since taking office Prime Minister Harris had spent $1 million to enhance his home in Tabernacle and in the short space of 8 months in office, several government ministers had acquired new Jeep Prados.

Liburd said there was no fiscal discipline when a foreign born adviser was being paid $20,000 monthly and getting free housing.

She also referenced to the 2 salaries being paid to the two NIA ministers in the federal cabinet as examples of reckless spending of the public finances.
