Mic-1Following the decision of the High Court to award half a million dollars to a couple whose private sex tape was leaked on social media by police, Freedom Fm callers weighed in on the issue on Monday afternoon.

Many callers expressed outrage that it was the police who had breached the confidential rights and privacy of the individuals.

Others felt that the offending police should be made to pay back the money into the Federation’s treasury.

Meanwhile Angelina Sookoo who represented both claimants in this matter, told Freedom Fm Newsdesk on Monday that it was the action of the police in violating the rights of the two individuals, especially with regards to the dissemination of same on phone applications and social media platforms, that was at stake here. She indicated that the groundbreaking landmark decision is the new precedent in the Caribbean.
