Lexi Peets-1To mark International Youth Day 2015 Lexi Peets was featured on Freedom Fm’s “Issues”. When asked about significance of the day as a young person Ms. Peets said that the day was symbolic. She quoted the UN Secretary General Banki Moon’s speech noting that this section resonated with her as a young person in St Kitts.

Peets is of the view that the Team Unity Government seems to be dedicated to side lining the nation’s youth.

When asked about opportunities that exist in the Federation for youth Ms Peets explained that the previous administration had policies in place for youth development but the new government has discarded these policies.

Also speaking on the commemoration of International Youth Day Honorable Marcella Liburd agreed with Ms Peets’ position on the treatment of young people in the country.

Liburd explained that she was proud of the SKNLP’s record in regard to young people.
