Frigate Bay Residents Robbed In Their Homes

Frigate Bay-1Police are on looking for two armed men who robbed residents in the Half Moon Bay area Friday night. According to one resident sometime after 9:00 p.m., he and his wife were at home when they were attacked by two masked men, dressed in black, wearing gloves and carrying guns. They were robbed of US$300.and the robbers drove away in the jeep of the victims…a white CRV jeep.

Police in the Frigate Bay area are investigating at least four masked gunmen targeted Foreign Investors and Developers and members of the diplomatic community resident in the Frigate Bay/Half Moon Bay/Conaree areas whose homes were burglarized and robbed at gunpoint. In one apartment two masked men robbed the occupants of US$1500. They then moved to another apartment in the building and robbed the tenants of EC$300 and in the third apartment they robbed the occupant of US$2700 and EC$200.

According to the police, several other residents in various apartments in the multi-unit building at Half Moon Courtyard reported they too were robbed. The victims all reported that the men were dressed in black, wearing masks and gloves and carrying guns. The robbers took their phones to prevent them from calling police.

IN OTHER CRIME RELATED NEWS…the Police are reporting that as a result of ongoing intelligence, Members of the SSU, Drug Squad and SIU conducted a joint operation commencing at the RLB Airport and Climaxing at the premises of Steadroy Walwyn, brother of former commissioner Walwyn of Buckleys site, where a search warrant was executed on suspicion of being in possession of controlled drugs, firearms and ammunition.

As a result of the search 1.22 kilo of cocaine with a street value of $103,00.00ec was found concealed in a false compartment of a suitcase that was brought into the federation as luggage by Elaine Hyacinth Cooper who travelled from St. Lucia on board LIAT. The suitcase was then handed over to Steadroy Walwyn. Levi Archibald of Trafalgar village, who met Hyacinth at the airport, Steadroy Walwyn and Elaine Hyacinth Cooper were all arrested for the find and are in police custody.
