police fire man-1A mother, father and three children were rushed to the Mount St John’s Medical Centre after a fire gutted their Jennings home yesterday in the wee hours of the morning.

Forty-one-year-old Gaiann Williams and three young children — her seven-year-old step-daughter, her three-year-old and eight-month-old sons-along with boyfriend were rushed to hospital by ambulance after a fire, believed to have been electrical, burnt their dwelling.

Williams’s uncle Regon Williams said he arrived on the scene following a telephone call about 5 am, informing him that his niece’s house was on fire.

“When I leave Liberta and come to Jennings I met my niece sitting down on the step, her face well burnt up. Her two sons got burnt and the police came, called the ambulance and took all of them to hospital. The baby got burns,” the uncle said, indicating he was unaware of the severity of the burns.

He said his niece, who is employed as a nurse at the same hospital, is warded in the Intensive Care Unit with injuries to her upper body.
