daley-1Former CFBC President Dr. Kelvin Daley is refuting charges of mismanagement and incompetence of the CFBC during his tenure as president of CFBC.

During Monday’s TUG town hall meeting, Education Minister Shawn Richards charged that while Daley was speaking about political victimization as responsible for his firing, the total picture needs to be revealed about the levels of mismanagement which took place under Daley’s administration.

Richards told the nation that nearly ½ million dollars was unaccounted for at the CFBC under Daley’s management.

“That was under his watch as President of CFBC, and the report speaks to it right here: $819, 276.11 collected at CFB in the year 2014. Actual banked deposits, $395, 840.54, amount accounted for $423, 445.47, and so if the Board took a decision not to renew his contract, why you what to blame me or why you want to blame the Board?

On Freedom Fm’s Issues Daley denied the charges, saying Minister Richards had destroyed his life leaving a cloud of suspicion by alleging that he had misappropriated funds at CFBC.

“Where am I to go now? Daley asked, not spoken by the board… but by the Minister of Education and Deputy Prime Minister of the federation Hon Shawn Richards. That is the gravity I am operation on.

Where am I to go now? When you Google my name, you’re going to see all these issues come up about my tenure at CFBC. Where am I to go, how do I get back my name. The attempt to destroy me is evident. I have family…. I have kids, I am a consummate professional”, said the Nevisian born educator. The former CFBC president says he is seeking legal redress on this matter.

He said he is waiting on advice from several legal circles in the federation, in making sure this matter is addressed. “It’s not the first time, the Hon Shawn Richards brought these issues to the fore but this time it’s different.

The first time was during a presentation he did in the house of parliament, where he said this happened under the watch of the former Education Minister, Nigel Carty. Now it’s me being responsible”, said Dr Daley.
