The Opposition St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party wants the government to call the election and call it now.

During a political meeting Sunday night, former Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition Dr. Denzil Douglas issued an ultimatum to the Timothy Harris-led Team Unity administration…call the election within the next 90 days or else.

“Tonight I give the signal that Labour is mobilized. I say to you I will give the first signal that tonight, the first day of December Labour declares that if we don’t get our election called in the next 90 days then we on de streets; we nar come off.

“I have brought the bell; I give them 90 days to ring their own bell. If they don’t ring their orange or white or whatever color bell I will ring the Labour Next- Gen SK red bell. 90 days I give them.”

Dr. Douglas is also calling for the resignation of two of the candidates in the Unity –coalition- Minister of Tourism Lindsay Grant and Constituency #2 candidate Jonel Powell over a recent court order where a client of the attorneys claimed they had misappropriated funds.

“Labour is demanding the resignation of Jonel Powell and Lindsay Grant. Earlier last week I wrote to the Bar Association, I wrote to the Governor-General; we will write to all of the regional organisations and demand that they resign from this government.”

The last general election for St. Kitts and Nevis was held on Feb 16, 2015 where the coalition Team Unity won a total of 7 seats, the SKNLP 3 and the Nevis Reformation Party claimed a single seat.
