Talk show call in social and political expert Sylvene Henry was critical of the SKNLP’s Leadership succession plan during the Labour Party’s weekly Wednesday afternoon edition of Issues on Freedom Fm.

Henry blasted the Labour Party’s failure to choose a younger leader at the recent 85th Conference of the SKNLP on Sunday, and indicated that the Labour Party cannot win another election with former PM Douglas at the helm.

Responding to Henry’s comments the recently re-elected leader of the SKNLP, Dr Denzil Douglas said the SKNLP has the capacity to generate its own leaders, as he was the product of such a system.

Dr Douglas pointed to the fact that at the last federal election, three young dynamic leaders were given an opportunity to offer themselves to the public in federal elections.

Dr Douglas said Henry could not dictate how the Labour Party is organized, how it operates and how it functions as she Henry had a political agenda.

Douglas reaffirmed the SKNLP will ensure smooth leadership transition and continuity in providing service to our people which is the legacy of the SKNLP.
