The Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will not penalise Kieron Pollard for the no-ball incident that occurred at the end of the Barbados Tridents versus St Kitts & Nevis Patriots earlier this month.

In a statement yesterday, the CPL confirmed that “there was no ill-intent” when Trident’s captain Pollard bowled a no-ball to Patriots Patriot’s batsman Evin Lewis with the Patriots needing one run to win and the batsman needing three runs to score what would have been a record century.

Lewis was on 97, guiding his team to the brink of victory, when Pollard, who went for 23 when he bowled the sixth over, came back to bowl the eighth and overstepped while delivering a short ball that was over the head of Lewis.
