CBI has benefited St. Kitts – Nevis tremendously says Douglas

Opposition-1The leader of the Opposition SKNLP Dr. Denzil Douglas along with other members of the parliamentary opposition Marcella Liburd, Konris Maynard and Patrice Nisbett convened a press conference at the Marriott Hotel on Thursday morning to address a number of national issues which included the Citizenship by Investment, the Sugar Industry Diversification Fund, the question of victimization of Labour Party supporters, the XCD 16 million for former sugar workers and violent crimes.

The press conference was attended by regional journalists who are in St. Kitts – Nevis for the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) Governor’s meeting, and local journalists.

When asked about the Citizenship by Investment Programme, in light of recent security breaches pointed out by the U.S.A and Canadian governments, the former Prime Minister Douglas acknowledged the challenges but maintained that the programme was of immense benefit to the federation’s financial and economical successes.
Dr. Douglas said the present government of Dr. Timothy Harris, was following what the former SKNLP government had left in place, particularly the recommendations of IPSA International.
