SKNLP Senator Nigel Carty called in to Freedom Fm’s Issues on Thursday to express his view on Prime Minister Harris’ response on the land for debt swap issue.
Speaking at his monthly press conference on Wednesday, Prime Minister Harris called the land for debt swap a sham.
Harris acknowledged that finding an alternative for it was problematic, and that the Team Unity Government is finding that arrangement very costly to manage.
But speaking on Issues on Thursday Senator Cart said that when the land for debt swap was being debated the then Team Unity opposition had walked out although they had the numbers to make the passage of the bill impossible.
Carty said that after 15 months of a Team Unity Government which had promised to repeal the land for debt swap, what we are now getting is a “cock and bull story” said the Senator.
Carty said the Team Unity Government never intended to repeal the land for debt swap.
