BHS-1A Basseterre High School parent is very distraught that his third grade daughter was sent home on Monday as the Advance Vocational Education Center students had return to start their term’s work.

The parent said that AVEC should have opened two weeks ago but the Ministry kept delaying the return of AVEC, while accommodation was sought for the Basseterre High School students at AVEC.

The parent further disclosed that the Minister said in a meeting recently that it would take two weeks to get the BHS building next to Beach Allen ready for the Basseterre High School students who were temporarily housed at AVEC.

But on Monday such plans were not completed and the third form BHS students at AVEC had to be sent home as the AVEC students had returned.

The parent said he had no idea when the situation would be resolved and when his child would return to school. He explained the child’s mother and himself were irate with the continuing interruption on his daughter’s education and that it has inconvenienced himself and the child’s mother.
